General Summary
Provides supervision of the operations of The Great Outdoors Water Park. Responsible for advancing Department's high standards of Customer Service. Serves as first contact for customers regarding inquires both in person and on the phone, providing information and assistance to City staff and the public according to established procedures. Dependability is a key aspect of this position. Employee is expected to perform with minimum supervision after procedures, policies and techniques are learned.
Must be at least 17 years old for this position.
Essential Functions
The following duties are illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive:
  • Perform cash outs:
    • Balance revenues with receipts
    • Support and assist the cashier staff
    • Complete daily paperwork and deposits
    • Held accountable for financial transactions
  • Oversee registration procedures and collection of fees.
  • Work with public and resolve conflicts.
  • Provide reporting as needed, accident reports, incident reports, and facility inspection form.
  • Ensure that groups receive all services arranged for in their reservation.
  • Provide initial customer contact and respond to customer needs.
  • Assist guests with check in utilizing daily sales, pass member check in, or program participation check-in.
  • Process program activity registrations, pass registrations, pass renewals.
  • Promote interest and provide accurate information regarding facility policies, procedures, including all information in current brochure to the public.
  • Assist key holder with opening and closing procedures.
  • Ability to make correct change for cash transactions.
  • Ability to multi-task, answer phones, support other staff with front desk operations fulfilling immediate customer needs.
  • Utilize software to provide activity rosters, class attendance work sheets and member visit reports as requested.
  • Fill in data on standard office forms utilized in front desk procedures.
  • May assist in food inventory control, in ordering food and supplies for the kitchen operation, and in receiving and stocking food and supplies.
  • Keep kitchen, food prep areas, coolers, and freezers clean, properly rotate all foods in stock, coolers, and freezers, practice good safety procedures and adhere to all Public Health Regulations.
  • Responsible for daily set up, stocking, and break down of concession area, keeping concession patio and other eating areas and equipment cleaned, and abiding by and enforcing all food safety procedures.
  • Record and collect monies for food and beverages served; responsible for cash verification of register at beginning and end of shift.
  • Prepare food by a prescribed recipe and providing prompt, courteous service, including quality, portion control, and presentation of all food and beverages.
  • May be required to conduct weekly physical inventory.
  • Perform related work as required and assigned.

  • Typical Qualifications
    KNOWLEDGE: Proper food handling and beverage service, running a cash register, making change and thorough knowledge of all areas within a concession stand. Basic knowledge of food preparation and arrangement of food and Public Health Regulations.
    SKILL: Demonstrated skill in the operation of equipment necessary to perform the functions of the job, in preparing and serving food.
    ABILITY: Enforce codes and regulations firmly, tactfully, and impartially; express ideas clearly and concisely and establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public. Plan and prepare quality foods for small to large groups of people in an efficient manner; and to adhere to and enforce Public Health Regulations.
    TRAINING: No specific requirement.
    EXPERIENCE: Some concession experience desired or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides evidence that the applicant possesses the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
    Special Requirements
    Must be at least 17 years old for this position.
    Each person who works in the Concessions area will complete the following online program prior to working in the Concession area or within 1 week of working. The course is online and can be completed from any web-access device. The time spent passing this course will be paid with their hourly rate.
    Seasonal employees are entitled to a free Recreation Center pass while they are active.
