SUMMARY:

The Lead Cook is responsible for assisting in the planning, organizing, and execution of operational functions within the Dietary Services department. This employee will partner with the Senior Director of Support Services and the Executive Chef regarding the direction, needs, and strategic initiatives of the department to promote the highest quality of care and safety of EPH patients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Operates as a scheduled cook for 3-4 shifts/week.
  • Expected to make a reasonable effort to staff-in and help cover scheduling gaps as needed.
  • Practices exceptional customer service and communication with stakeholders of EPH.
  • Assists with personnel scheduling.
  • Assists with menu planning, procurement, and developing prep lists.
  • Assists with planning and executing cleaning schedules.
  • Knowledgeable of all positions within the department.
  • Assists in training, and re-training, of department personnel.
  • Partners with department management regarding the direction, needs, and strategic initiatives of the department to promote the highest quality of care and safety of EPH patients.
  • Oversees and assists in maintaining temperature logs, PPM logs, serving sheets, stocking sheets, and meals served documentation.
  • Helps maintain an environment of survey preparedness and safety through staff education of food safety principles and cooking techniques.
  • Helps maintain end-of-month documentation and invoices.
  • Performs all job-related duties as assigned; may have additional department-specific duties assigned as deemed necessary by management to meet business needs.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Three or more years of experience as a Cook; healthcare experience or long-term care experience a plus. Candidate should have demonstrated record of high performance.

  • Vocational training in food service a plus.

PAY RANGE:

$17.43-$26.15 per hour
