We are on the lookout for a Lead Controls HIL Engineerto join our team.
Responsibilities
The Lead Controls HIL Engineer leads the development and integration of test cases for ECU testing. The position is responsible for setting up test stands and developing the Pass/Fail test criteria, working closely with the controller module to gain approval for test plans and test coverage during solution development.
The position's job duties include:

• Building and maintaining HIL (Hardware in the Loop) test benches to support the testing of multiple ECUs.
• Developing, verifying & validating test scripts using tools such as NI TestStand and LabVIEW on a HIL (Hardware in the Loop) bench.
• Based on the high-level testing requirements, writing detailed test specifications
• Creating LabVIEW codes for controlling NI data acquisition cards, Pickering MUX and Matrix cards for the HIL bench.
• Performing test executions using testing tools such as oscilloscope, multimeter, power supply and function generator etc.
• Managing and organizing the detailed test specifications.
• Analyzing the test results and test measurements and reporting to the developers.
• Based on the sensor behavior implement the models in MATLAB/ Simulink environment to validate the ECU
• Designing and developing the architecture of NI based test systems for the automation of manual testing.
• Troubleshooting the HIL test setup technical issues and resolving them.

This position supervises the work of a Sr. Controls HIL Engineer and a Controls HIL Engineer.
Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline or foreign equivalent thereof, and minimum of 60 months of progressive work experience involving the testing of Electronic Control Units (ECUs).
• Minimum experience must include:
  • experience in automotive hardware manufacturing test development
  • in training and mentoring junior team members
  • with control electronics, sensors, and actuators
  • with HIL benches
  • with NI LabVIEW and NI TestStand
  • with communication networks such as CAN, J1939 and UDS; and with MATLAB and Simulink
• Limited domestic travel with possibility of some international travel (Europe) to customer sites and supplier sites (up to 15% total travel).
