Position Summary: As the Lead you will support the operator’s activities to ensure that machining is completed to meet appropriate quality standards, customer specifications, and delivery requirements. This role also allows you to be hands-on while operating CNC machinery.

Essential Functions of the CNC Production Lead:

  • Direct activities of all workers assigned to the area, changing work assignments and specific duties during the shift as required to maintain efficient operation.
  • Enter and correct production data including reporting machine times and scrap/rework activity.
  • Work with division management to determine appropriate schedule for jobs based on priority or the dispatch list to be run during the shift. Make necessary decisions to maintain efficient workflow and productivity. Coordinate production activities with other departments; prioritize and make adjustments as needed to avoid manufacturing delays.
  • Assist employees with problem solving, setups, fixturing, etc. Obtain appropriate supplies and tools required by employees.
  • Carry out production, inspection, packaging and machine operation duties.
  • Set up machinery and ensure all materials are readily available.
  • Effectively monitor production equipment.
  • Assist the shop technicians and materials clerk as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Hands on experience in CNC-Machining (5+ years).
  • Bring experience or desire to lead and be the team’s go-to person throughout the work day.
  • Must be reliable, self-motivated, accurate, detail-orientated, responsible.
  • Must have communication skills, applied learning ability, and safety awareness.

Qualifications for a CNC Production Lead:

  • Ability to operate and adjust production equipment as required. Must be able to train and evaluate employees in proper operation of equipment.
  • Ability to work independently, making both routine and emergency decisions without direct supervision or input from upper management.
  • Solid computer literacy - able to use PC for basic recordkeeping and generating summary activity reports (Epicor preferred).
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to read, interpret and follow blueprints, shop routings and specific engineering notes related to unique customer specifications.

Physical Requirements/working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; sit; use hand to handle, or feel objects, tool or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear and smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required to by this job include close vision and color vision.


Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
