Salary Range: $73.82 - $87.78
Position Summary
The Lead Clinical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for clinical leadership, staff training and performance of patient testing within the laboratory section. He/she insures that high quality laboratory tests are performed in a timely and cost-effective manner following industry standard process control systems
Qualifications
Education
Required: B.S. or equivalent in Medical Technology or Biological Sciences
Desired: Additional training or focused/extensive education in area of departmental operation considered valuable
Licenses/Certifications
Required: Current CAL CLS License
Desired: Specialty certificate in area of departmental operations
Work Experience
Required: 5-year recent hospital or equivalent laboratory experience
Desired: Generalist experience in all areas of laboratory with specialty training and work experience in area of interest
Language Skills
Required: Excellent written and verbal expression needed for procedure development. maintenance, and implementation
Computer Skills
Required: Experience with Laboratory information systems, Hospital information systems, etc. Must be highly proficient with word processing, spreadsheets, power point, or departmental specific programs
Desired: Background/Knowledge of standard DB systems desirable
Other Skills and Abilities
Required: Good human relations and oral and written communication skills to accomplish tasks through delegation of work. Must possess expert knowledge of procedures, instruments and quality assurance within laboratory specialty. Must be able to perform test development (CLSI), generate/update departmental policies and procedures, and teach others.

Required: Must be highly flexible and adaptable to handle all types of situations. Must be able to assist in problem solving, improve workflow and systems, and implement new technologies, develop and update procedures and maintain department above industry standards
