As a Lead CG Asset Artist at Falcon’s Creative Group You should be proactive and have a strong motivation to lead your team of artists to create captivating and visually stunning media content. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the visual direction of our work and driving the artistic excellence of our projects. You should have a strong understanding of creating 3D assets from versatile modular props to unique hero assets. You’ll be working closely within a team of experienced artists and developers and have a significant impact on the final technical performance and quality of all 3D environment assets. This job is based in our office in Orlando, Florida. Applicants must either live in the area or be willing to move to Central Florida and work from the office daily.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead and manage a team of talented 3D artists, providing guidance, feedback, and mentorship to foster their professional growth and optimize their creative output.
  • Collaborate closely with Art Directors, Game Designers, and Technical Artists to define and execute the visual style and quality standards for all of our projects.
  • Create and oversee the production of high-quality 3D assets, including characters, environments, props, and special effects, ensuring they meet the artistic vision and technical requirements of the projects.
  • Create high-quality environment 3D assets adhering to the vision of each project, while working closely with Supervisors and Directors to ensure the quality of the deliverables
  • Communicate and collaborate with other teams to align and to plan and schedule 3D-asset productions.
  • Implement assets into Unreal Engine 5 and communicate with artists, designers and programmers.
  • Maintain a flexible iterative approach and research and share knowledge of 3D asset techniques and game development work practices between departments.
  • Offer feedback, support team morale and facilitate free and open creative communication.
  • Work with outsourced teams of 3D artists by briefing and guiding them and reviewing their work.
  • Experiment and research alongside technical department and Art direction enabling better world-building and visual choices
  • Work with supervisors to help create documentation and improve workflow

Job Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Must have a wealth of 3D modeling, and texturing experience.
  • Fill in the creative blanks and help realize the projects aesthetic & creative intent by working with Directors, and concept artists, providing various forms of reference, and harnessing your imagination
  • Match art needs with the proper artists playing to their skillsets, desires, and interests
  • Relay and follow through with art director & other teams’ feedback to the art team
  • Collaborate with the FX & Tech Art teams to define art content specs to ensure proper implementation & performance
  • Work with the other leads and supervisors on a regular basis to effectively manage art asset direction, modeling, texturing, lighting, FX, optimization, proper implementation, and debugging to meet the aesthetic, stylistic, and technical quality bars
  • Provide regular feedback to content artists verbally, via Shotgrid and JIRA, or other visual presentation (such as paint overs, additional concept art, reference, etc.)
  • Degree in computer graphics or architectural visualization is preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America.
