UMCH Family Services is seeking a Lead Case Manager for Home Studies and/or Post Release Services, must have experience in conducting home studies and writing professional, thorough assessment reports. The Lead Case Manager must have knowledge of local community social services and should have specialized experience conducting home studies and working with immigrant populations. The Lead Case Manager should be knowledgeable about family preservation, kinship care, and/or general child welfare.

Position Summary:
The Lead Case Manager provides effective leadership and management to uphold UMCH Family Services Trauma Informed Care Culture for clients, families, and staff. The Lead Case Manager provides adaptive leadership through supportive coaching and mentoring to Home Study & Post Release Service (HS/PRS) case management staff and is responsible for providing oversight to activities related to the completion of Home Studies and delivery of Post Release Services to unaccompanied children and their sponsors (caregivers). This position ensures the creation of strong systems and methods of performance excellence with the goal of conducting Home Studies that assess for safety and suitability of placement and providing Post Release Services that promote successful integration of youth and support family reunification efforts. UMCH Family Services works in collaboration with the Board of Child Care (BCC) and Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) to provide home study and post release case management to unaccompanied children that are reunified with caregivers across the Mid-Atlantic and surrounding regions as well as other parts of the country.
Continuing Education:
- Paid training in Evidence Based and Trauma Informed Practices is provided
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bilingual Spanish/English Required (speaking, reading and writing)
- MSW degree or an equivalent degree in behavior sciences or a social service field plus approximately 3 years of progressive experience in Behavioral Sciences, Human Services or Social Service fields. This requirement may be substituted by a bachelor's degree in one of the aforementioned sciences, plus approximately 5 years of relevant employment experience, that demonstrates supervisory and case management experience.
- Must have strong documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively with families and community partners
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable
- Travel required

Conditions of Employment:
- Ability to pass a child protective services check with the previous State(s) of U.S. residence for the last five years.
- Ability to pass a tuberculosis screening, work-readiness physical and drug screen prior to employment.
- Ability to pass a Federal and State Fingerprinting Background Check both prior to employment and per the schedule outlined by HR thereafter.
