Prime 1 Builders is seeking to add a new Lead Carpenter / Foreman / Supervisor
These 3 titles describe the multi-talented individual that we are looking to hire immediately. This person is a skilled craftsman or craftswoman, can lead a crew or crews of our own company tradesmen/tradeswomen, and can supervise a jobsite. This position is considered a working - with tools - position, but the main focus of this individuals day to day activities is the leading, organizing and motivation of all involved on the jobsites they are in charge of. Being a great carpenter/craftsman or craftswoman is important, but leadership is the top priority for this position.

We work primarily in the South Hills area and we operate from 3 - 6 projects at any given time
Additional qualifications and responsibilities
The Lead Carpenter / Foreman / Supervisor will oversee new builds and remodels. In this role, you will manage a crew of 2-4 carpenters depending on the scale and timeline of each project. In addition to assigning tasks, you will make sure the work is done correctly and enforce workplace safety regulations. In some cases, you may also perform form or finish carpentry tasks on your own. We are looking for a reliable individual with excellent workmanship. All applicants must be able to pass a drug screening and background check.
- Layout of the work flow and daily/weekly scheduling with vendors and subcontractors Coordinate the subcontractors - scheduling, follow up and insuring their work is completed as per company standards
- Oversee and ensure that all safety rules are being followed at all sites at all times Participate in Prime 1 Safety Committee
- Able to read and interpret construction plans and scopes of work
- Knowledge of current building codes or ability to look up code information
- Materials take off / ordering and scheduling deliveries
- Communicate directly with the customer
- Schedule and attend building inspections
- Provide quality control at all stages of the project work
- Complete some carpentry tasks - help out where needed
- Some onsite training and mentoring for company personnel
- Attend weekly production meetings
- Assist construction administrator with customer management programming and scheduling
- must have 5 years of Lead Carpenter/Foreman experience to be considered For this position
- Be the key person in charge of overseeing the completion of the project from start up to punch list
- Occasionally pick up materials at local suppliers
- Ability to resource other suppliers, subcontractors and general workforce labor that are new to this company
- This position reports directly to the company owner
- This position will require a positive and upbeat attitude and disposition.

Compensation & Benefits
Pay is negotiable with experience & level of knowledge Please indicate your pay - hourly/salary requirements
- We offer medical insurance for the individual and the company pays a large portion (73% +/-) of the monthly premium. This is a UPMC based plan. We also offer family plans at discounted group rates
- We offer PTO based on an accrual system for the first year and 2 weeks PTO at the 2nd year and beyond

A company truck will be provided to this position after a 90 day probationary period. This 90 day period may be reduced by exemplary performance during this period. This is a take home truck for the benefit of traveling to and from jobsites / home / office, on a daily basis.
