The Lead BLS InstructorPer Diem conducts training and education at the EMT level in concert with the overall mission of the EMS training center. Provides logistical support for on-site and off-site courses, supports EMS training Center leadership through clerical and operational functions in addition to teaching courses. The Lead BLS InstructorPer Diem is responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and evaluating the NJ EMT Training program both initial and refresher, under the direction of the NJ EMT Course Coordinator and Director of the EMS Training Center.
Responsibilities
A day in the life of a Lead BLS Instructor at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
1. Able to conduct training and education at the basic life support level for EMT in concert with overall mission of EMS training center
2. Provides logistics support for onsite and offsite course offerings
3. Supports EMS training center leadership through clerical and operational functions in addition to teaching courses
4. Needs to maintain EMS certification and NJ EMT Instructor
5. Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
6. Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
7. Lifts a minimum of 5 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 25 lbs. and stands a minimum of 3 hours a day.
Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
1. A minimum of 5 years of EMS experience as a provider
2. Must possess basic computer skills, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
1. Minimum of 5-years Instructor experience
Licenses and Certifications Required:
1. Emergency Medical Technician Certification New Jersey or Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic Certification or Mobile Intensive Care Nurse Certification.
2. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification or AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
3. New Jersey EMT Instructor.
Licenses and Certifications Preferred:
1. BLS Instructor Trainer.
