We are looking for a Lead Animal Care Attendant! The Lead Animal Care Attendant oversees other Animal Care Attendants and has the responsibility for training and mentoring new hires in the center.

Requirements
Core Responsibilities:
- Supports Mission, Vision and Values of Destination Pet.
- Performs all duties/essential job functions of the kennel technician.
- Supervises assigned shifts and works with Kennel Technicians to maintain a clean, safe environment for our pet guests.
- Works alongside center management to train new hires in proper animal-handling techniques.
- Monitors and motivates Animal Care staff, reports absences/tardy: assists with counseling as necessary.
- Directs and ensures the cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting of all used pet suites.
- Under the supervision of the General Manager, administers medications to guests as required.
- Monitors and accurately charts consumption and elimination of each and every pet guest; brings problems to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Performs several walk-throughs each day to ensure pet guest safety and well-being in all areas.
- Monitors appropriate inventory of supplies; reports as needed to supervisor.
- Monitors the safe handling of all pets; enforces safety procedures.
- Ensures appropriate feedback for owners for each guest's stay.
- Treats customers, guests and co-workers in a professional, courteous manner; greets all customers encountered while performing work duties.
Expertise & Experience:
• Minimum of 1-year kennel or veterinary experience.
• Must have ability to resolve problems quickly and professionally.
• Must have ability to supervise, motivate and counsel associates.
• Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be able to work on computer system and complete written reports.
• Displays and acts in a professional manner at all times.
Physical:
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Must frequently lift 40 pounds.
• Must be able to be on feet for the duration of your shift.
• Must be able to stand, walk and climb stairs frequently.
• Must be able to handle dogs on leashes.
• Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander and excretions.
Travel
• Minimum travel may be required for training purposes.
