Lcm Technician - Mason, Oh

Position Overview

Seeking a dynamic technician to join our team, with a focus on Laser Capture Microdissection

This project will require onsite in Mason OH.

Major Responsibilities:

• Work safely in a lab that requires use to human source material.
• Performs all tasks and procedures in a regulated environment with minimal supervision.
• Always communicates effectively in an absolute professional manner with team members and staff.
• Multi-tasks effectively and performs other essential tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Absolute Requirements:

• A.S. or B.S. Degree in Biological sciences or related, or 2 years of experience. 
• Able to precisely outline structures on a tablet screen using a stylus pen
• Able to sit and concentrate for long periods of time (2-3hr intervals)
• Ability to quickly master user intuitive software applications.
• Excellent analytical and time management skills for success in a fast-paced environment 
• Role requires the use of human source tissues, must be okay with handling human tissues daily.
• Must be results-oriented and possess a high degree of accuracy.
• Must be comfortable working independently.

Preferred skills/experience:

• Experience with Laser Capture Micro-dissection
• Experience with tissue handling (animal or human)
• Histological analysis experience: sectioning, chemical staining and immuno-staining
• Microscopy experience - bright and dark field
• Experience with both DNA, RNA and protein isolation from tissues
• Experience with using Image Analysis software (Image J or equivalent).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with a diverse team and possess a positive attitude.
