Job Overview:
As a Lawn Care Technician specializing in fertilizing and weed control, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and aesthetic appeal of our clients' lawns by applying fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides as needed. You will play a crucial role in maintaining lush, green lawns while effectively managing weed growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Fertilization Application:
Apply fertilizers in accordance with scheduled treatments and client specifications.
Ensure accurate measurement and even distribution of fertilizers across lawns.
Monitor and adjust fertilizer application rates based on soil conditions and seasonal requirements.
Weed Control:
Identify common weeds and invasive plant species present in lawns.
Apply herbicides safely and effectively to control weed growth while minimizing harm to desirable vegetation.
Implement integrated weed management strategies to prevent weed proliferation.
Soil Analysis and Treatment:
Conduct soil tests to assess nutrient levels and pH balance.
Recommend soil amendments and treatments to improve soil health and optimize plant growth.
Collaborate with clients to develop personalized Lawn Care plans based on soil analysis results.
Equipment Maintenance:
Maintain and calibrate application equipment to ensure accurate and efficient operations.
Perform routine inspections and repairs on equipment to prevent downtime and ensure safety.
Follow proper storage and handling procedures for chemicals and equipment.
Customer Service:
Interact professionally with clients to address questions, concerns, and special requests.
Provide guidance on lawn maintenance practices, including watering, mowing, and pest control.
Maintain regular communication with clients to schedule services and provide updates on Lawn Care activities.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in Lawn Care, landscaping, or related field.
- Knowledge of fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides, including proper application techniques and safety protocols.
- Familiarity with turfgrass species, weed identification, and common lawn pests.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Certification for pesticide application in Pennsylvania
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Stamina to work on your feet for extended periods.
- Agility to navigate uneven terrain and operate equipment safely.
Working Conditions:
- Outdoor work environment, exposed to sunlight, heat, cold, and inclement weather.
- Occasional exposure to chemicals and pesticides, requiring adherence to safety protocols and protective equipment.
