SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Lawn Care Specialist is responsible for executing a variety of Lawn Care services, using an extensive range of tools, products, and techniques. This position requires a strong ability to engage with both clients and youth participants, ensuring client satisfaction and fostering a supportive environment for young individuals involved in the program. The Lawn Care Specialist will also play a pivotal role in supervising youth participants, guiding them in safe work practices, and contributing to their personal and professional development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Mow, trim, and maintain clients’ lawns to high standards.
- Train and oversee youth participants on route, ensuring they adhere to safety guidelines and proper Lawn Care techniques.
- Facilitate educational sessions for youth participants on Lawn Care skills, work ethics, and safety practices.
- Conduct minor repairs and routine maintenance on Lawn Care equipment, instructing youth participants in these tasks as appropriate.
- Communicate effectively with the Executive Director regarding client experiences, youth participant performance, and any concerns that arise.
- Assist in the maintenance of accurate program records, including incident reports, logbook entries, and documentation of hours worked by youth participants.
- Understand and implement all emergency procedures associated with Dream City programs, ensuring youth participants are also trained in these areas.
- Enforce safety guidelines rigorously, creating a safe working environment for all program participants.
- Respond to client requests and feedback, adjusting services as needed to meet their Lawn Care goals.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Receive clearance by the Iowa Department of Human Services on Child Abuse and Criminal Records check
- Maintain a valid driver's license
- Recommendation from a previous employer in which a similar role was performed
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, SKILLS and/or EXPERIENCE
- Demonstrated ability to lead, plan, organize, and implement program plans, particularly those involving youth.
- Experience working with young individuals and the ability to foster a positive, educational environment.
- Strong team member with the capability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
- Proven outreach skills to build and maintain a clientele base.
- Flexibility in schedule to accommodate daytime, evening, and weekend programming as required.
Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
