- Answers department telephone calls and respond to requests.
- Collect and sort soiled linens, by color and type. Responsible for identifying and pre-treating stains.
- Loads and operates washers and dryers efficiently as directed, using appropriate cycles consistent with linen laundering instructions.
- Fold items as directed, placing these items on shelves or in appropriate storage areas.
- May be required to track laundry cycles, count sorted items as directed.
- Removes and records damaged or heavily stained linen that is not appropriate for guest use.
- Clean lint traps and keeps a clean and orderly laundry room.
- Maintain safety standards of all chemicals used.
- Turn in all lost and found items to the housekeeping office.
- In absence of a house person, will collect soiled linens from various areas and replenish with clean.
- May be called upon by Guest Services or IVY texts to provide requested services to guests, such as delivering towels, amenities or providing cleaning services.
- Follow established safety procedures.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Red Mountain Gold Star Standards.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- High school diploma or general education degree, one to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, to guests and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form.

- Valid driver license required.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; climb; use hands and fingers; handle; talk or hear; sit and stoop; kneel; or crawl. The employee may be exposed to wet, cold and/or humid conditions including heat and cold.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
The employee must be able to spend entire shift on feet and ascend and descend stairways.
The employee must be flexible in working evenings, weekends and holidays.
