Laundry Aide And Housekeeping

GENERAL STATEMENT OF POSITION:

The Laundry Aide provides a variety of laundry duties in maintaining an orderly, sanitary condition and in collecting and laundering of linens, garments, and washables. This includes but is not limited to: washing, folding, sorting, delivering, etc. resident clothing, bed and bath linens.

REPORTS TO: Environmental Services Director and may include some light housekeeping duties as required by the supervisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

• Ensures that all laundry is properly sorted, washed and dried according to State and Federal regulations.
• Ensures that the laundry room and surrounding areas is maintained in a clean, orderly and sanitary condition.
• Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by the supervisor.
• Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
• Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
• Clean lint traps as directed.
• Ensures that every resident room is appropriately stocked with linens (sheets and towels).
• Housekeeping Duties, include but are not limited to:Cleaning the refrigerator(s) in the residential kitchens and employee break room 2x a week

Cleaning the inside of the storage cabinets 2x a week
Conducting weekly room sweeps for lost items and items not allowed in resident rooms.
Assist as needed dusting, vacuuming, cleaning of common areas, lobby, and utility area in the back of the facility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to understand and follow instructions and communicate effectively.
• The ability to work collaboratively with all departments and department heads
• Must be in good physical condition as the position requires the ability to stand on one’s feet throughout the day, as well as, push, pull, move and/or lift repetitively a minimum of 10 pounds up to greater than 30 pounds.

CERTIFICATION AND CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Criminal record clearance or criminal record exemption, as required by law
• Health evaluation to ensure ability to perform duties of the position and the absence of any communicable disease, including tuberculosis and CXR clearance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
