Late Night Staff

Our Teen Outreach Program engages teens in Tacoma and neighboring communities by providing activities and program opportunities in a safe and inclusive environment. Our program provides intentional and empowering experiences that strengthen relationships, builds social-emotional skills, and that drive personal growth and development.

As a Late Night Staff, you will provide leadership and motivation for staff and teens in the Late Nite Program. Ensuring a positive environment for teens to participate in open gym, basketball, swimming, utilizing workout equipment, and various teen programs after hours at the YMCA.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, lead and assist staff and participants in skill development, game play and social interaction.
• Teach sportsmanship and use teachable moments to implement our core values.
• Plan and/or lead Assemble Time.
• Assist with overseeing volunteers who assist with Late Night Program.
• Provide support in briefing staff and volunteers on program plan.
• Deescalate situations in a professional manner to ensure program safety.
• Assist with the responsibility for Late Nite staff and participant supervision and safety.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• High school graduate or equivalent (preferred).
• One year or more of related experience (preferred).
• Positive attitude and previous experience with teens and diverse populations.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications preferred.
• Complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day. Complete other online and in-person training as required.

Wage:$16.53 to $17.50 per hour, depending on qualifications

Hours:Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per week

Location:Tom Taylor Family YMCA, Gig Harbor, WA
