Job description

Set up and operates CNC laser machine to cut metal parts to blueprint/drawing specifications.

Operate laser equipment to perform cutting on a variety of materials in various thicknesses

Organize and indentify/label different grades and thickness of materials

Identify and pull programs from network to load and run in machine.

Edit existing parameters and programs

Conduct first piece, intermediate intervals and final part inspections

Troubleshoot and correct poor cutting conditions.

Verify conformance of parts to specifications.

Clean optics and select specific heads and nozzles based on cutting material

Adjust laser's mirrors and lenses

Perform preventative maintenance on laser equipment

Maintain spare parts inventory of laser machine, nozzles, seals, etc.

Assist/Develop and write work instructions as needed

Assist in the development of new fixtures and gauges

Perform experimental trials and create prototypes

Assist with technical issues/production problems

Operate Gantry Bridge Crane, Hoist, and Forklift safely to transfer materials

Complete required paperwork

Job location: Racine, WI

Position type: temp to hire

1st shift: 7:00 am-3:30 pm M-F

Pay: $21.00 (based on experience)

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Ability

Proficiency utilizing inspection gauging, measuring devices, and instruments

General knowledge of adjustments (turns w/ mirrors/lenses on laser)

Familiar with the gases used to cut product. (Nitrogen, Argon, Oxygen and Helium)

Skill in reading, analyzing and interpreting technical information on blueprints, job routings and work instructions.

Ability to operate various equipment such as Brake and Punch Presses and tapping machines

Strong math skills (Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations)

Must work well independently and in a team environment, and be results-orientated.

Able to adapt quickly to change and work under tight deadlines.

Must be cooperative, willing to share knowledge, cross-train, take on additional responsibilities and hold self-accountable.

Problem solver and innovative thinker.

Able to follow written and verbal instructions

PC skills and Basic AutoCAD fundamental skills are useful

Ability to work in a fast paced production area.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Experience/Education:

Minimum 2 years' set-up operator experience on Laser
