POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Machine Operators are responsible for the safe and efficient use of manufacturing equipment such as lathes, milling machines, plasma cutter, laser cutters, and grinders within the Piping & Structural Fabrication Departments
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate machinery such as saws, lathes, milling machines, plasma and laser cutters, and grinders
- Operate overhead cranes safely and efficiently
- Maintain raw material inventories
- Ability to nest work orders to maximize material and machine efficiency
- Other tasks as assigned by TAS
JOB SKILLS
- Ability to read blueprints and follow product specification instructions
- Good command of the English language, both written and verbal is required.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
- High school diploma
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Two years fabrication experience
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Forklift certified
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work performed in a shop environment;
- Exposed to any number of elements but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable;
- Requires normal vision and absence of color blindness
- Physical effort equal to frequent moving of up to 50lbs materials;
- Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach;
- The use of Safety Glasses is required;
- The use of earplugs is recommended;
- Ability to stand up to 10 hours a day (with a lunch in between) and up to 6 days a week;
- Ability to work in a non-air-conditioned environment.
- Steel-toe boots required in Manufacturing Facility
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- Night shift
Experience:
- English: 2 years (Preferred)
- Fabrication: 2 years (Preferred)
- Plasma cutting: 3 years (Required)
Shift availability:
- Night Shift (Required)
- Overnight Shift (Preferred)
