Laser Operator

As a Laser Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining laser cutting and engraving machines to produce precision parts and designs for various industries. Your primary role will involve setting up, monitoring, and troubleshooting laser equipment, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and producing high-quality products in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

Equipment Setup and Maintenance:

• Prepare and set up laser cutting and engraving machines according to job specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, and calibrating equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Material Handling:

• Select and load the appropriate materials into the laser machine.
• Ensure materials are securely positioned and aligned for precise cutting or engraving.

Laser Operation:

• Operate laser machines to cut, engrave, or mark materials accurately and efficiently.
• Monitor machine parameters, such as power, speed, and focus, to achieve desired results. Adjust settings as needed to maintain quality standards.

Quality Control:

• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality and design specifications.
• Identify and address any defects or irregularities in the output.

Safety Compliance:

• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines for laser operation, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Report any safety concerns or incidents promptly.

Record Keeping:

• Maintain accurate records of production data, machine settings, and material usage.
• Complete production logs and documentation as required.

Troubleshooting:

• Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions or technical issues.
• Collaborate with maintenance personnel for repairs and adjustments when necessary.

Efficiency and Productivity:

• Optimize machine settings and production processes to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
• Meet production quotas and deadlines while maintaining product quality.

Communication:

• Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth production flow.
• Communicate any delays, issues, or production changes promptly.

Continuous Improvement:

• Stay updated on industry trends and laser technology advancements.
• Suggest process improvements and participate in process enhancement initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or completion of GED; technical or vocational training in laser operation is preferred.
• Previous experience as a Laser Operator or in a related manufacturing role preferred.
• Knowledge of laser cutting and engraving equipment and software.
• Understanding of materials commonly used in laser cutting of various metal materials.
• Strong attention to detail and precision.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment maintenance.
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Safety-conscious and committed to maintaining a safe work environment.
