The Land Development Managerwill oversee daily operations of the Land Development Division of the Planning and Development Department including three core teams providing Land Development administration and regulatory reviews. The position manages the workgroup responsible for the review and approval of administrative development proposals inclusive of site plans and subdivisions, zoning permitting, legal records and map recordation. The role will involve regular coordination with the Customer Service and Continuous Improvement division to develop effective feedback loop for process improvements and timely resolution of customer concerns. Incumbents make interpretive decisions on behalf of the organization regarding the means for executing the goals established by the Director. Incumbents supervise professional, paraprofessional and support staff including conducting performance evaluations, coordinating training, and implementing hiring, discipline and termination procedures. Teleworking is an option for this position.

- Provides management and oversight of projects, programs and functional operations of assigned division; develops strategy, goals, and priorities; manages planning initiatives; provides advanced technical guidance related to processes, standards, policies and regulations; performs high-level analysis; makes resource assignments.
- Serves as liaison with other departments, City Manager, Council, Commissions, the public and other stakeholders; oversees interdepartmental collaboration and coordination of operations and to address issues; provides consultation related to major design and construction issues and/or oversight of development review, land use and comprehensive plan implementation; reviews and approves agenda items, status reporting and/or presentations.
- Manages and administers assigned budgets; assists in capital budget development and administration; authorizes expenditures and ensures accordance with budget; participates in negotiations; oversees procurement; and provides administrative reporting. Manages operational response to critical and emergency situations and issues.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in engineering or directly related field, six years of professional engineering and/or construction/project management experience and two years of supervisory experience.

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
