Job Summary and Qualifications

What you will do in this role:

• Performs/documents consultation for normal and complex lactation patients.
• Consults and coordinates care with physicians and/or midwife.
• Serves a resource for breastfeeding information to patients, community, nursing staff and physicians.
• Responsible for professional self-development.
• Communicates effectively and professionally with peers, supervisors, ancillary departments and all other external/internal customers.
• Coordinates patient education courses and support groups for the community (Toddler Talk & Mom’s talk)
• Coordinates and works closely with director of unit, nursing staff and other Lactation Consultants to maintain Baby Friendly designation.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Intl Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
