Laboratory Technician (Wet Chem)

The Wet ChemLaboratory Technician will be responsible for supporting the Wet Chemistry laboratory by following methodologies, performing analysis, and interpreting data from samples.

Potential responsibilities include:

· Analyzing samples for alkalinity, biochemical oxygen demand, chemical oxygen demand, total dissolved solids, total suspended solids, and other inorganic analyses

· Follow the outlined methodologies and Standard Operating Procedures for the tests to which you have been assigned

· Learn to operate and maintain scientific instruments such as flow injection analyzers, total organic carbon analyzers, and ion chromatography systems

· Document activities and report results in a concise and accurate manner

· Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of laboratory equipment and areas

· Assist group leaders and analysts in ordering and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and parts for instrumentation

Some of the additional traits our candidate would need to possess include:

· High school diploma or equivalent

· A four year college degree in a related field is preferred but not required

· 1-3 years of previous experience working in an environmental laboratory is preferred

· Knowledge of analytical method, instruments, general lab practices, and lab safety

· Exceptional time management and communication skills required

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
