Laboratory Technician - Downhole Tools R&D - Superior Completion Services

Superior Completion Services is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician - Downhole Tools R&Dfor our Completion Tools Research, Design, New Product Development, and Sustaining Engineering Group in Houston, TX to support the qualification testing of our downhole completion tool product lines (including packers, sand control, fluid loss valves, interval control valves, barrier valves, locks, nipples and/or safety valves).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assembly of prototype equipment as directed by Engineers, Test Lab personnel, and engineering drawings.
• Conduct high pressure hydrostatic and nitrogen testing.
• Maintain Data Acquisition test information for testing performed.
• Maintain lab equipment in good working order, including performing preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Interface with Design Engineering and Supervisor Test Lab to plan and organize tests and projects.
• Become familiar with core product line.
• Attend all safety meetings.
• Participate in writing of Job Safety Analysis.
• Maintain a neat work area.
• Occasionally work night shifts and weekends

Technical Skills:

• Current practices and technology used in the oil and gas industry
• Knowledge, competency and experience in related field
• Knowledge relating to Completion Services procedures and processes
• Current practices, equipment, materials, and supplies used in the completion tools business

• Operating various office equipment: personal computer, copy machine, fax machine and telephone system

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience in the assembly and testing of downhole oil & gas is a plus.
• Completion Tool / Packer experience a plus.
• High Pressure pipe fitting experience helpful.
• Nitrogen testing and Data Acquisition experience is a plus.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent
