Form of workAct as the MDARD Lab Division Sampling Manager, coordinating all Pesticide Data Program (PDP) and Food Assurance Program (FAP) sampling activities. This includes providing the scheduling, auditing, and training of staff; and the formulation of procedures, policies, and guidelines for both programs. The position also requires advanced independent analysis of produce samples and misuse samples for pesticide residues using established multi-residue screening methods. Other responsibilities include the operation and maintenance of analytical instruments such as a gas chromatograph mass selective detector and liquid chromatograph with triple quadrupole detector, sample preparation, quality assurance, maintenance of ISO 17025 standards, reviewing and reporting data, improving and modifying current methods and being the subject matter expert for the development of new methods for sample collection and pesticide analysis method validation.

Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, forensic science, or a related pure or applied field.
Experience
Four years of professional experience equivalent to a Laboratory Scientist, including two years equivalent to a Laboratory Scientist P11 or one year equivalent to a Laboratory Scientist 12.
Valid Driver's License
