Job Description
ITis looking for afull time Laboratory Information System Administratorto join their team! The hours are Monday - Friday - 7:30 - 4:00 (flexible remote and in office hours).
The Laboratory Information System Administrator provides technical support of applications and interfaces to support our Laboratory Information Systems. Overall responsibility for monitoring and maintaining laboratory systems, software, and hardware, and upgrades as well as file maintenance. Will also coordinate, develop, and maintain the scope and performance of LIS projects. Serves as the primary IT point of contact for Laboratory Information Systems.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Troubleshoot network, server, client, printer, software, and connectivity issues.
• Instrument Interface technical support. Working with application vendor, instrument vendors and laboratory to interface new instruments to Laboratory Information System.
• Perform Laboratory Information System related Hardware maintenance like label printers, report printers, creation of print queues, etc.
• Coordinating regular server restarts and routine maintenance activities with the Laboratory and MIS.
• Monitor Inbound / Outbound Interfaces to ensure uninterrupted communications.
• Analyzing HL7 messages to identify and fix any issues between interfaces and the Laboratory Information System.
• Testing interfaces during system changes as well as version upgrades.
• Maintain documentation for all testing activities as well as change requests.
• Supports lab database in preparing lab-specific ad hoc reports and file maintenance (user setup, etc.).
• Provide off hours support for technical issues and helps to coordinate upgrades and Go-Live events.
• Perform hardware and software upgrades as needed and generate the necessary documents to maintain the System validated status.
• Generate change controls, action plans, procedures and any other documents related to the software with guidance from Director, Laboratory Services.
• Make recommendations about computer and network hardware needs of the laboratory.

Annual salary range: $69,000 - $103,750

Requirements

• 5 years of experience with pathology or other clinical Information Systems, system analysis (including detailed knowledge of departmental operations), information flow, all pathology testing, and diagnostic reporting policies/procedures.
• Medical Technologist experience preferred.
• Orchard/Harvest, COPIA, Abbott Track or other LIS experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a multi-tasking environment with aggressive deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, life science or associate degree from an accredited institution.
