Laboratory Coordinator (Monday through Friday 7 am – 4 pm, Full Time)

Compensation: From $16.00 - $20.00 per hour based on experience

The Laboratory Coordinator position plays a vital role in ensuring that surgeons receive the correct tissue for a transplant in a timely manner. What you’ll do:

1. Responsible for the data entry, inspection and labeling of tissues following processing.

2. Complete documentation for entry and labeling activities completely and accurately on processing paperwork and in electronic records software.

3. Evaluate tissue, packaging and processing records for accuracy and compliance to company policies and procedures.

4. Communicate deviations from procedures and abnormalities to responsible parties (Supervisor, Management etc.).

5. Perform final packaging, preservation and general lab cleaning activities. Directly responsible for the operation of lyophilizer and heat sealer equipment for the packaging and preservation of tissue.

6. Inspect, clean, maintain, and monitor equipment used in execution of assigned responsibilities.

7. Assist in the receiving of donor tissues at the facility, and in the shipment of tissues for sterilization as needed.

8. Perform all assigned duties in compliance with internal policies, processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as well as external regulations as determined by regulatory agencies Assists on special projects and performs additional duties as assigned.

All you need is:

· High School Diploma or equivalent

· Previous training or experience that demonstrates the ability to accurately apply acute attention to detail in maintenance of detailed data.

· Strong reading, writing, and organizational skills to independently manage work flow.

· Ability to prioritize quickly and appropriately with minimal guidance.

· Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: computers, scanners, label printers, and heat sealers.

Bonus points if you’ve got:

· One (1) year of recent and relevant, tissue banking or manufacturing in clean/sterile environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Marked attention to detail in daily work.

The physical requirements of this role includes activities that require seeing, listening, touching, and verbalizing needs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, ability to adjust focus and perform procedures involving hand-eye coordination. Some of the tasks do also require standing and performance of repetitive tasks for long periods of time and may require lifting of objects up to 50 lbs. in weight.
