- Responsible for maintaining and coordinating accessioning, handling and grossing preparation of surgical specimens and laboratory inquiries regarding specimen collection and processing for the hospital
- Maintains and coordinates all laboratory inquiries and procedures regarding referred testing specimen collection and processing for the hospital and acts as a resource for hospital personnel regarding specimen procurement, testing and results
- Maintains and coordinates all laboratory specimen pick-up and deliveries between CHS Hospitals and CHS Regional Laboratory Service facilities and performs other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Computer experience
- Good oral and written communications skills
- Six months experience in all phases of Phlebotomy in a hospital environment
- Weekends and holidays as scheduled. Certification from the American Society of Phlebotomy technicians
- Experience in protocols involved in accessioning, handling, and preparation, including thin prep processing of cytology specimens desired.
- Clean, valid NYS Driver's license required.
