Position Summary: Perform phlebotomy functions and processes. Prepare samples, distribute test results, and perform other related duties.
Supervision Received: Reports to Laboratory Director
Essential Job Functions include but are not limited to:
· Phlebotomy. Process and prepare samples for in-house and out-of-house testing, and enter into appropriate electronic systems.
· Review lab results and perform electronic sign off on all lab reports.
· Help with completion of pending log if time allows.
· Document re-check date on lab reports and distribute to providers.
· Perform POC testing in the upstairs lab.
· Verify new CBC controls
· QC on all POC test kits as required by CLIA/COLA regulations (daily, weekly, monthly).
· Basic troubleshooting and documenting maintenance of lab equipment upstairs.
· Document all finger sticks and venipunctures.
· Perform daily review of log and lab orders in the EMR and make corrections.
· Assist in collecting data for QA review.
· As needed: mail results to patients, monitor patient blood draw schedule, correspond with medical offices, complete requisitions, portal messaging.

Working Environment:
This position requires sitting or standing for long periods of time, bending, and manual dexterity to draw from patient. The schedule may include some evening or weekend hours.
Education, Licensure & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Phlebotomy certificate and experience in a clinical lab setting preferred.
