- Sample preparation for quantitative analysis.
- Operating multiple analytical instruments for characterization of liquid sample.
- Qualitatively and quantitatively analyze experimental data, including statistical analysis.
- Prepare accurate and comprehensive test reports using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Perform routine lab operations – package receiving, shipping, ordering supplies, lab cleanup, etc.
- Manage instruments in the lab, perform timely instrument calibrations, interact with instrument vendors to arrange instrument maintenance and repairs.
- Must comply with safety requirements in the lab and exhibit a strong safety culture.
- Excellent analytical skills, be capable of solving challenging technical issues
- Strong communication skills, meticulous work ethic, and a can-do attitude
- Excellent team-work skills and self-motivated when working independently
- Proven ability for fast learning and acquiring new skills
- Understand technical direction from senior lab personnel on diverse projects. The candidate will be supporting a small analytical team of chemists. Multitasking is key
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
- BS degree in Chemistry, BioChemistry, Material Science, Biology, BioTechnology, or another STEM major with lab experience.
- AA/AS degree in Chemistry, BioChemistry, Material Science, Biology, BioTechnology, or another STEM major with professional lab experience.
- Demonstrated lab experience.
- MS in Chemistry, BioChemistry, Material Science, Biology, BioTechnology, or another STEM major with professional lab analytical equipment experience.
- Proficiency in supporting projects with LC, GC, IC and ICPMS analysis.
- Extensive hands-on experience working with equipment and lab operations: write up and update SOPs, troubleshooting, ordering and receiving consumables and chemicals, housekeeping, etc.
- Experience in performing instrument maintenance and/or repairs.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, California: $52,000.00-$200,000.00
