The Labor Team Assistance Coordinator (LTAC) provides direct support to GrantWorks’ Labor staff who in turn work closely with GrantWorks’ CD Project Management staff in the implementation of public infrastructure construction projects funded by the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program with funds distributed via the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) and the Texas General Land Office (GLO). These projects are typically for the construction of improvements to public water and wastewater systems but may also include road, drainage, or housing improvement activities and can also be related to disaster recovery. Once under construction, GrantWorks’ Labor staff is responsible for ensuring project contractors maintain compliance with State and Federal Labor Regulations with a primary focus on the Davis-Bacon and Related Acts (DBRA). This position requires a detail oriented multi-tasker who is punctual and reliable, with a willingness to learn and the ability to prioritize time sensitive tasks.
Primary Responsibilities
● Review and disseminate information received through a shared email inbox to ensure it reaches the correct party.
● Work as a liaison between GrantWorks’ Labor and CD Project Management staff to ensure timely responses and communication between teams.
● Assist in the preparation of labor documents in PDF, Word, and Excel Formats.
● Assist in maintaining project checklists and trackers for labor staff via cloud-based data streams.
● Create and maintain files for Labor Staff, including creation and maintenance of the archived labor record.
● Provide administrative support to Labor Staff (to include copying, filing, scanning, etc.).
● Other project related tasks as assigned.
Required Skills/Experience
● Effectively prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks with varying deadlines.
● A strong attention to detail.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
● Ability to respond and adapt to changing standard operating procedures as they relate to state and federal regulations.
● Strong computer skills are mandatory; learn new programs as required; create PDFs and MS Word documents including the use of mail merge, SharePoint, MS Excel spreadsheets and charts, MS PowerPoint presentations and Quickbase.
● Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
● Ability to navigate the Internet to retrieve information when required, as well as the ability to use common office equipment/technology.
● Lay knowledge of public water and wastewater system components and functions, Davis-Bacon wage rules, grant and/or construction management helpful but not required.
● Spanish speaker a plus.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of similar administrative work experience. College degree or 4+ years of related experience preferred.
- Because minimal travel is part of this job, a valid Texas driver’s license is required at the time of hiring and a driving record will be required.
- Clean background check will be required upon offer.
This position is full-time employment with an annual salary of $50,000.00.
This position is based in the Houston Metropolitan area to serve our clients.
