Job Summary and QualificationsThe Surgical Technologist performs scrubbing duties and maintains the surgical asepsis. Works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse in delivering safe and effective care to the patient during the intraoperative period.
- H.S. Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited school or technology program preferred.
- Preferred CST certification with currency per the Liaison Council of Certification for Surgical Technologists.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and certification.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- One year of L&D Surg Tech experience required.
This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
HCA Florida Mercy Hospital is a 488-bed facility. We are accredited by the Joint Commission and offer a wide range of medical specialties. These specialties include emergency care, heart, and vascular care. We are designated by the Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center. Other specialties include maternity and neonatal care. We are a Level II NICU hospital. HCA Florida Mercy Hospital is CARF accredited for inpatient rehabilitation. Our facility offers a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program.
