- The QC Sample Handling Technician will assist a multi-discipline support staff with primary responsibility for receiving, aliquoting, distributing, and handling materials, as well as with documentation of GMP samples in support of multi-product and multi-site testing laboratories.
- The technician may also be expected to assist with GMP data transcription and verification on paper and in electronic systems. Must stay within GMP compliance at all times.
- Record keeping experience required. Must be familiar with general safety procedure and guidelines. Must be self-motivated and have a strong attention to detail. Good communication skills required. Years of Experience 0-2.
- Specific duties and responsibilities for this role are:
- Assist the sample handling team with receiving biological sample shipments.
- Inventory and shipping of in-process, reference and stability materials, which requires handling cold samples for long periods of time.
- Label vials with barcodes printed from a laboratory information management system (LIMS).
- Download temperature information from the shipping temperature monitors to a computer for evaluation.
- Maintain and archive shipping records in accordance with company SOPs.
- The technician may also be expected to:
- Transcribe data from one system to another.
- Perform 100% accuracy verification for previously transcribed data.
- Skills Required:
- Ability to work in a highly regulated environment and comply with GMP expectations.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills in order to start and complete a task.
- Ability to handle cold samples for long periods of time and cold environments for short periods of time.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite, and computer literate enough to quickly learn new systems.
- Ability to comply with sample handling safety instructions.
- Previous experience working in a pharmaceutical or biotech environment is desired, but not required..
