PrideStaff is working with a national company that is in need of multiple Lab Technicians. This position is in need of someone who can conduct research, analysis, synthesis, and experimentation on gases for the purpose of products and process development and application, quantitative and qualitative analysis while improving analytical methodologies while performing these duties.

Pay:$50k+ D.O.E
Schedule: M-F 7a-3:30p
Location: Joliet, IL
Job Responsibilities:
- Assists with developing formulas, processes, and methods for solution of technical problems and
- testing procedures.
- Analyzes gases to test for purity of gas or proper mixture.
- Performs research on manufactured products to develop and improve products.
- Performs research into composition, structure, properties, relationships, and reactions of matter.
- Prepares standards and specifications for processes, products, and tests.
- Performs routine maintenance and calibration on analytical equipment.
- Calculates, prepares, and fills medical and specialty gas mixtures and pures using partial pressure and gravimetric techniques.
- Analyzes products for purity conformance to specifications.
- Processes cylinder for shipment, including painting, labeling, and preparing certificates of analysis.
- Maintains all quality control records and other required documentation in order to comply with company, local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations.
- Test and certify incoming raw materials for production.
- Cylinder handling and loading as required.
- Participate in all required safety activities and maintain a safe work environment
- Completes statistical analysis of all testing.
- Maintains Cylinder Fill Record program and files.
- Maintains and distributes Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS sheets) for each location.
- Maintains, cleans, and sterilizes laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Prepares Certificates of Conformance and Analysis for specifications of gases according to gas code and distributes as requested.
- Orders and inventories materials in order to maintain supplies.
- Participates in all required safety activities such as meetings, monthly expectations, and safety
- committee meetings.
- Assists with other Specialty Gas department duties as needed.
Job Requirements:
- BS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or 2 years of analytical experience.
- Must have solid math and computer skills.
- Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, algebra, and advanced statistical
- theory.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
- Candidate should have experience working in a quality assurance laboratory capacity and be familiar with analytical gas techniques.
- Must be self-motivated and detail orientated.
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical
- problems.
- Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,)
- in its most difficult phases.
- Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
- Hazardous materials training and certification.
Physical Demands:
- The employee is regularly required to talk or hear (ex: answering phone).
- The employee frequently is required to walk (ex: around warehouse); sit (ex: computer work); and use
- hands to finger, handle, or feel (ex: testing, computer work).
- The employee is occasionally required to stand (ex: reading gauges).
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds (ex: office supplies) and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (ex: small cylinders, equipment).
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus (ex: computer work and testing equipment).
- The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock (ex: testing
- equipment).
- The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud (ex: warehouse).
