Lab Technician
New York City, NY (Onsite)

Responsibilities:

• Manage the prototype device farm for automated firmware and software tests.
• Set up, modify, and maintain prototype devices.
• Monitor and manually remediate device health issues.
• Execute device configuration changes as per software engineer requests.
• Investigate testing failures related to hardware issues.
• Enable and troubleshoot automated Continuous Integration (CI) infrastructure using Jenkins.
• Participate in on-call rotations for CI infrastructure monitoring.
• Work in a Linux Dev Environment.
• Knowledge of Firmware/Driver builds and build procedures.
• Update device firmware on test prototypes and triage device debug logs (Good to have).
• Manage servers in Lab/Data center environment from BMC consoles.
• Handle Test Prototypes, Blade servers, Server racks, and rack hardware.
• Utilize IT Automation tools (e.g., Chef, Ansible) for Lab Server setup and changes.
• Communicate effectively and document results with attention to detail.
• Work independently, manage time efficiently, and analyze data accurately.

Requirements:

• 5 years of experience in Infrastructure Development and Management in Test Lab/Data center.
• Experience in Embedded Systems, device drivers, and operating systems (Windows, Linux, RTOS).
• Proficiency in Chef, Python, Unix Shell scripting, VCS Git/Hg, VC Code/PyCharm.
• Expertise in CI/CD tools, particularly Jenkins.
• Experience with AR Headsets development (Preferred).
• 10 years of overall experience in relevant areas.
• Familiarity with server management in a Lab/Data center environment.
• Knowledge of Linux and programming skills in Python or bash.
