Who We're Looking For:
Therabody is looking for a hands-on Lab scientist to directly assist the Head of Therabody Labs, our in-house science and innovation lab. We are looking for a scientist who has an exercise science, exercise physiology, or a related health science field research background with extensive hands-on experience working in the lab environment. They have experience in all aspects of the research process and project management from study design, to data collection, analysis, and write-up. They have a proven track record of being part of cross-functional teams in the development and execution of lab testing by developing testing solutions to answer key scientific questions. They are passionate about creatively applying their scientific knowledge, expertise, and lab experience to answer key questions and drive new innovations. The qualified candidate will possess the ability to evaluate data to communicate actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the efficient and safe running of the Therabody Lab
- Work with the Head of Therabody Labs to develop and execute lab testing to meet the key needs of the Science & Innovation team
- Work collaboratively to develop specialized testing or processes for use in the product development and validation process
- Work closely with Therabody Labs leadership to translate key lab results into work streams that maximize business impact
- Manage lab projects that involve both in person and remote testing functions
- Responsible for ongoing review and creation of standard operating procedures including risk assessments within the Therabody Lab
- Main records of laboratory bookings, equipment maintenance and health & safety matters
- Work collaboratively with the Product Development team of engineers to establish specialized testing procedures or processes for new product innovation
- Work collaboratively with Product Development leadership to provide efficacy around future product innovation
The Right Person Would Have:
- Masters Degree in exercise science, exercise physiology, or a related health science field such as kinesiology
- 2 years minimum experience of directly working within a lab supporting scientific research in relevant area
- Experience with myography measurements, ultrasound, vascular function and muscle oxygenation sensors, and EEG equipment preferred
- Familiarity with health and wellness products a plus
- You can easily collaborate with others and can jump in to work alongside your coworkers/external researchers when needed
- Experience working with SPSS, R or other statistical analysis software
- MS Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint), Adobe Illustrator and digital software platforms for packaging artwork & design a plus
- Strong analytical and writing skills with the ability to untangle complex problems and explain them to non science staff
- Excellent workflow and project management skills, with a strong attention to detail
- Aptitude for being organized with flexibility and for delivering results in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of autonomy
- Experience and ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization/time management and problem-solving skills
This base pay range is for the U.S. and not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, candidate’s related work experience, business sector and geographic location. This position also is eligible for benefits and discretionary bonus, although incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
