We at HPE Aruba Networking division are looking for a Lab Engineer to help with the day-to-day operations of the Performance Engineering Lab for our EdgeConnect Enterprise products. This is a hands-on role that will require you to frequently be on-site at our datacenter where performance equipment is maintained. Must be willing to learn a broad range of technical skills as well as coordinate with other groups.
Responsibilities:

• Order equipment and maintain inventory for the performance lab, which includes ordering HPE servers and peripherals from 3rd-party vendors.
• Rack and configure various lab equipment including servers and networking gear which are dedicated to performance testing.
• Work closely with other lab groups to learn and share best practices.
• Maintain documentation on how equipment is setup in all of its various configurations.
• Install and maintain hypervisors including Hyper-V, ESXi and Redhat KVM.
• Follow the e-waste process.
• Be able to handle light IT work.
• With coordination with technical lead, experiment with system tuning.
• Upgrade test equipment firmware and validate functionality.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to work as an independent, productive, responsible, self-motivated member of the team.
• Ability to lift 50lbs.
• Experience with Windows and various Linux operating systems.
• Experience managing networking equipment like switches and routers.
• Experience with virtualization technologies using different hypervisors including VMWare vSphere, MS Hyper-V, and KVM.
• Ability to write scripts to automate day-to-day processes.
• Good communication skills, written and verbal, along with ability to communicate complex procedures.
• A desire to constantly grow and learn new things. In this team you will be exposed to new technologies and new problems. Ability to assimilate new ideas and tackle tough problems as they arise will be the key to success.

Education, Experience and Certification:

• 2+ years experience in IT related fields.
• Bachelors degree in business, technology, or related fields preferred.

Hourly: $50,100.00 - $114,400.00
