Job Summary: The Lab Coordinator facilitates efficient and reliable operations of the powder & bulk solids testing laboratory to ensure accurate test results and high productivity. The role includes communicating openly, effectively, and respectfully with all staff, clients, and suppliers (as required) in the interests of good business practice, collaboration, and adherence to Jenike & Johanson's core values. Duties & Responsibilities:

• All testing coordination
• Communicate with engineers regarding lab information (data, status, schedule, information req'd, etc.)
• Direct and assign the laboratory technicians in their duties and tasks
• Scheduling of laboratory personnel including PTO, with supervisor consultation
• Expediting and resolution of in-process work
• Ensure pace and completion of: Calibration, Training, HSE audits, sample receiving/return, 5S and lab facilities including equipment maintenance, procurement, supplies. These tasks may be conducted by others.
• Quality audits and productivity assessments, for understanding of what the lab is producing.
• Investigates local testing-related issues, e.g. missed timing, quality concerns, feedback.
• Performs testing and is in reviewer role as appropriate – very familiar with all tests; can assess all data.
• Helps with integration of new procedures, methods, and workflow into the lab.
• Member of Global Lab Team and supports GLT goals.
• Communicates short term and long-term needs of the lab to Supervisor and GLT.
• With support from Supervisor, facilitate laboratory technicians’ continued staff growth and development.
• Conduct tests on bulk solids as a Laboratory Technician. This is anticipated to be secondary after Lab Coordinator tasks are completed.

• Able to steer and teach both technicians and engineers.
• Attention to detail.

• Perform bulk solids testing.

A Jenike Lab Technician routinely measures the properties of powders and bulk solids. Testing is performed with specialized equipment and samples are often requiring manipulation to adjust their moisture, size, consistency to reflect unique handling conditions. Hands on skills and critical thinking ability are combined with use of computational software and testers to arrive at data needed for equipment design for material handling.

Education & Experience:

• Minimum of Associate's Degree, preferred Bachelor's Degree in science or technology.
• Five years of laboratory experience, ideally with bulk solids testing.

Other Requirements:

• Days of work are Monday through Friday. Hours of work are typically between 8:30 a – 5 p, or as approved by supervisor. This position periodically requires additional overtime hours beyond a 40-hour work week.
• Lifting and other physical movement, respirator & personal protective equipment use, part of DEA program, some travel (2-4x per year) for on-site testing as well as visiting other offices (US and abroad).
