Form of workThe successful candidate will work in one of the following capacities based on experience and education. LAB ASSISTANT Works under general supervision. Primary duties include preparation of patient specimens, loading instruments., order entry, or clerical duties depending on location.

Load instruments.---------------------------------------------------------------------- LAB ASSISTANT MODERATE COMPLEX TESTING Exercises independent judgment in the performance of Moderate Complexity laboratory tests, equipment maintenance and QC/QA procedures. Works with minimal supervision. 1.
Performs specimen receiving, advanced processing, storing and disposal functions. 2. Performs Moderate Complexity testing, demonstrating proficiency in operation of instrumentation.
3. Reviews Moderate Complexity results to see if they are within defined parameters. Identifies and resolves technical specimen problems.
Report out results. 4. Identifies, researches and resolves specimen problems.
5. Performs equipment maintenance and function checks. Performs calibration, linearity studies, and correlation and precision studies.
6. Performs QC procedures according to protocol and maintains current quality control documentation. 7.
Troubleshoots instruments and tests. 8. May serve as a department content expert.
9. Assists in training new employees and students. 10.
cross trained in different sites or sections if required by the department. 11. On call as needed or required.
