The Lab and Facilities Specialist will serve as the primary point of contact for all activities related to building maintenance and supporting laboratory operations. Responsibilities include coordinating facility aspects, managing equipment, and actively participating in safety initiatives.

The Lab and Facilities Specialist will serve as the primary point of contact for all activities related to building maintenance and supporting laboratory operations. Responsibilities include coordinating facility aspects, managing equipment, and actively participating in safety initiatives.

Position Responsibilities:

• Coordinate facilities aspects, including managing service requests and being the point of contact for maintenance issues.
• Act as the equipment owner for incubators, freezers, and cold rooms, handling maintenance requests and managing on-call procedures.
• Manage on-call procedures for building equipment and personnel, assigning personnel on an annual rotation and providing necessary training.
• Oversee laboratory coat inventory and coordinate equipment maintenance activities.
• Perform biological shipment requests, including coordinating material transport and creating customs invoices for international shipments.
• Coordinate inventory of required supplies through the Managed Inventory Program (MIP) and other vendors.
• Lead organizational efforts in the lab, including monthly 5S updates, lab clean-outs, and floor maintenance coordination.
• Act as a My Green Lab representative for environmental sustainability.
• Be an active member of the building's environmental health and safety team.

Education and Experience:

• High School degree with 2-5 years of relevant experience
• Associate degree with 2-5 years of relevant experience

Physical Position Requirements:

• Minimal lifting
• Sitting, standing, walking

Must Have:

• Lab and industry experience
• Excellent communication skills
