The School of Nursing invites applications for Tenure Track/Tenured faculty. The applicant is expected to establish and maintain an independent, externally funded research program and to participate in teaching activities in the School of Nursing. All faculty participate in Scholarship (Discovery, Application, Integration, Teaching) and Citizenship.
Required Qualifications
Education/Licenses:
- PhD or equivalent research doctorate in nursing or related field
- Current Registered Nurse license issued by the State of Kansas or multi-state RN license issued by another Nurse Licensure Compact State
Work Experience:
- Excellent communication skills, including experience disseminating inquiry findings through oral and written presentations
- Experience in teaching and leading in an academic program
- Strong organizational, management, and leadership skills
- Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, as well as with individuals at various organizational and educational levels
- Portfolio of scholarly productivity
- Previous experience with funded research from intramural and/or extramural sources
Preferred Qualifications
Work Experience: Experience in leading curriculum development/revisions or research efforts in an academic program.
Skills:
- Ability to convey enthusiasm for a nursing career, specializing in research.
- Demonstrated interest in interdisciplinary collaboration.
Job Duties Outlined
- Establish and maintain an independent, externally funded research program
- Teaching in nursing programs according to educational preparation and program need
- Collaboration with nursing faculty at KU School of Nursing
- Participation in course and curriculum development
- Service commitment to School and Medical Center's clinical, academic, and research partnerships
- Develops and implements special projects as necessary
- Other duties as assigned
