Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and a strong background in the food industry. As a Line Cook/Prep Cook, you will be responsible for assisting with food preparation, cooking, and ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly.
Duties:
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and gathering spices
- Cook and plate dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Ensure food is cooked to the appropriate temperature and meets food safety guidelines
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate any shortages or needs to the kitchen manager
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service and efficient operations
- Follow all health and safety regulations in the kitchen
Skills:
- Strong culinary skills with experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Knowledge of food safety practices and procedures
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment, including knives, stoves, ovens, etc.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a team-oriented setting
- Excellent time management skills to ensure efficient food preparation and service
- Attention to detail in order to maintain high-quality standards
- Flexibility to adapt to changing menus and customer preferences
