Job Description – Kitchen Manager

We are a Northwest Arkansas restaurant group looking for the right individual to take the culinary reins at one of our restaurant concepts. When we say take the reins, we mean to take control, develop a plan, and lead a team of exceptional people to execute at an exceptional level.
This role will be asked to oversee all things food; kitchen management, team management and culinary execution. You will be surrounded by outstanding individuals that want to succeed and understand a team approach is required. We want to see an enthusiastic candidate with fresh ideas and the organizational skills required to handle a job that will present new challenges every day.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring that all food meets the highest quality standards and is served on time.
- Coordinating kitchen staff and assisting them as required.
- Hiring and training staff to prepare and cook all the menu items.
- Order, stock and manage ingredients and equipment, and placing orders and taking inventory on a regular basis.
- Assist the general manager in monitoring food costs and work to optimize kitchen budget.
- Enforcing best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen.
- Collaborate with the head chef and culinary team to develop and update menus.
- Keeping track of new trends in the industry.
- Incorporating feedback from restaurant staff and patrons to make improvements or resolve issues.
- Hiring, Training and Follow through on the entirety of all kitchen staff jobs, expectations, coaching and support.
- Schedule kitchen staff shifts and manage workload distribution.
- Provide a positive and safe work environment for all staff.
- Maintain open communication with the front of house leadership to support all areas of the restaurant.
- Attend, lead and follow through on leadership meetings, team huddles and overall excellent communication channels.
Skills and Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a similar position.
- In-depth knowledge of food principles and best practices.
- Computer software literate and ability.
- Passion for creating incredible food that delights and attracts customers.
- Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities.
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.
- Creative, innovative thinking.
- Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety.
- Experience managing inventories and stocktaking.
- Available to work on-call, shifts, after hours, over weekends, and on holidays.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
