Sage Garden Café is hiring a back-of-house Kitchen Manager who will work closely with the owner and kitchen team to ensure the success of the café. The Kitchen Manager has oversight of inventory, purchasing, specials menus, food quality control, and kitchen team leadership.
Responsibilities
- Manage kitchen staff and coordinate food orders
- Supervise food prep and cooking
- Price menu items in collaboration with the owner and general manager
- Order food supplies and kitchen equipment as needed
- Train kitchen staff on prep work and food plating techniques
- Maintain and enforce adherence to all safety & sanitation standards and best practices
- Participates in weekly meetings with the general manager and owner
- Leads Back-of-House start of shift meetings
- Monitors labor costs to attain budgeted goals within restaurant policies and procedures
Skills
- Proven work experience as a back-of-house manager or leader
- Hands-on experience with planning specials menus and ordering ingredients
- Knowledge of a wide range of recipes
- Excellent organizational skills
- Conflict management and resolution
- Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced work environment
- Flexibility to work during weekends
- A degree in restaurant management or certification from culinary school is a plus
