TITLE: Kitchen Coordinator
JOB PURPOSE: The Kitchen Coordinator is responsible for operating the Bread of Life Soup Kitchen in accordance with the Organization’s policies and procedures, applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and standards.
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:
A) Be committed to the Bread of Life mission
B) Oversee the daily operations of the Bread of Life Soup Kitchen and coordinate organization’s volunteers
C) Coordinate food donations through receiving, documentation/data collection, and completing donation receipts
D) Complete and maintain accurate logs/reports regarding food donations and volunteer hours
E) Ability to delegate kitchen tasks with incoming volunteers and effectively prepare food for the following day
F) Work in collaboration with the Directors of the organization to shop for vendors and services used by the organization, to acquire the best quality services and product for the most economic price
G) Assistance with the organizations two yearly appeals
H) Attends regular and ongoing in-services and trainings required by State and Federal regulation and Bread of Life Policies
I) Individual may be required to work in other areas of the organization to cover absences or relief to equalize peak work periods or otherwise balance the workload
J) Performs other reasonable duties as assigned by the Directors of the organization
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Knowledgeable of food safety practices regarding food sanitation, preparation, and safe storage
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; (Excel & Word)
· Proficiency in record keeping, and the ability to meet multiple deadlines
· Maintain relationships and work closely with community volunteers
· Proficient organization and verbal and written communication
· Excellent time management and ability to prioritize tasks
· Presents self professionally, positively representing the organization in demeanor and appearance
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS NEEDED FOR POSITION:
· Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
· Equivalent combination of education and experience considered
· ServSafe® Certification or ability to maintain Certification
· Must possess a valid Driver’s License and maintain a clean driving record
· Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
