- Deliver an engaging cooking class experience with excellent and consistent client service following provided recipes and event guides
- Teach clients about food and various culinary skills, tips and tricks as related to event recipes and ingredients in an informative yet approachable manner
- Manage and supervise Event Assistants
- Create a controlled safe, clean, friendly environment for all students
- Ensure the highest standards of sanitation and cleanliness
- Manage event needs from start-to-finish (from room set-up and ingredient prep to seamless event execution and thorough clean-up)
The ideal candidate has a minimum of 2-3 years experience entertaining people young and old. Formal teaching experience and training in education, childhood development or related field a plus. Must be comfortable with a range of cooking and baking techniques. Formal culinary education or equivalent experience a plus but not required. Must be able to command a room of 25+ students with energy, excitement and personality, to create an engaging event for periods of 1-3 hours. Able to take initiative and accomplish tasks without direct supervision. Must possess strong time-management skills, be detail- oriented and able to prioritize tasks.
Schedule/Availability: We are currently seeking part-time instructors with at least 10 hours/week of availability in one or more of the following timeframes:
- Weekend events such as family workshops and kids birthday parties (Fri-Sun)
- Seasonal (Sept-May) weekday "after-school" (3-5pm) for off-site cooking classes in area partner locations like schools and park districts
- Seasonal (June-Aug) weekday daytime for summer cooking camps (Mon-Fri)
