The Keyboarding and Basic Computer Operations Teacher K-8th Grade under the supervision of the principal is responsible for creating a dual-language immersion (Spanish and English) classroom environment that provides instruction for basic technology and keyboarding skills to students in Kindergarten through Grade 8.

The Keyboarding and Basic Computer Operations Teacher K-8th Grade under the supervision of the principal is responsible for creating a dual-language immersion (Spanish and English) classroom environment that provides instruction for basic technology and keyboarding skills to students in Kindergarten through Grade 8.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Work closely with classroom teachers to integrate the core curriculum of the District into the development and planning of all technology lessons.
- Plan, develop, and evaluate lessons for Basic Computer, keyboard, and internet skills to students in Kindergarten through Grade 8.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Promote a positive learning environment that includes behavior management techniques appropriate to the needs of all students.
- Develop lessons that include differentiation techniques
- Teach internet safety including personal responsibility for technology use
- Maintain and monitor student usage of computer lab equipment and internet usage as outlined by District policy.
- Work collaboratively with the District Tech Support on technology updates, projects, and recordkeeping of devices as needed.
- Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of the computer lab materials
- Collaborates with other staff members, and participates in faculty meetings, Aurora professional development opportunities, and committees.
- Participates in various student and parent activities which occur in school including curriculum nights, parent/teacher conferences, and school events.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish), possess an Academic Spanish level
- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.
- In-dept knowledge of, and ability to use, MS Office Standard (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
- Knowledge of PC and MAC hardware and software.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
- Ability to organize and coordinate work.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all internal and external individuals who support our students and families.
- MN teaching license in related field or have ability to obtain a MN approved teaching license.
- Must be proficient in Academic Spanish
- Must be 18 years or older at the time of employment, must possess a valid Minnesota Driver's License or state identification, must satisfactorily pass a criminal background check, and must comply with organizational and district policies.
- Required to lift or carry classroom supplies, textbooks, furniture, and equipment to a minimum of 35 pounds.
- Required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach, grab, pull, hear, see, and speak on a daily basis.
- Required to perform repetitive physical tasks such as computer keyboarding, writing, and reading
