Job Description:

The Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst position is assigned to the security team. The primary purpose of this position is to help coordinate and report on cyber incidents impacting CIT security customers in a call center environment by aiding in security ticket response, triage, some security tool deployments, and follow-up. Please note that this position's shift is 3PM-11PM Central Time.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot SIEM related alerts and tickets remotely and via the phone, and open/track trouble tickets in ticketing system
  • Assist SOC staff with SIEM systems configurations
  • Facilitate customer communication, via phone and email to follow-up on open issues and to communicate status of open ticket issues
  • Update open ticket status for both engineering and other support technicians within the ticketing software application
  • Provide threat and vulnerability analysis as well as security advisory services.
  • Integrate and share information with other analysts and other teams
  • Maintain technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills on the SOC supported products and services
  • Assist with alerts/tickets generated by EDR and PAM solutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Security+; must be willing to obtain CySA+ certification within 1 year.
  • Must be willing to working towards industry and product level certifications in internetworking and security related systems.
  • Desktop/networking experience, desktop software experience, and proficiency with Microsoft
  • UNIX / Linux based operating systems a plus
  • Internetworking skills, knowledge of I/P routing and configurations required
  • Must be detail oriented with strong customer service skills
  • This position may require shift work in a 24/7/365 environment. The capacity to work evening, overnight, weekend, and on-call hours as required


Preferred Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Prior experience working with and administrating SIEM solutions
  • Prior experience working in a consultative or contracting role.
