Key Account Associate

Job Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Key Account Associate is to deliver on assigned initiatives, support the development of new business for the client, and build strong customer relationships between the Key Accounts for Epic and the retail division team. The position supports the Key Account Manager (KAM) in communicating the division merchandising plans to the retail team, including promotional plans and calendars, and new product launches.

Success criteria for this position will be measured against overall business results in division vs. target and prior year, implementation of Key Account merchandising plans and new item launches, and the ability to develop vendor relationships.

Core Functions:

Division/Retail Growth

• Provide support to the KAM to meet/exceed sales targets through prospecting new products/vendors
• Demonstrate sales accomplishments and areas of opportunity by supporting the KAM in developing presentations for vendors
• In partnership with the KAM, build client relationships including merchandising and account leadership support for division growth and profitability
• In partnership with the KAM, develop and launch strategies to pursue new business opportunities
• Utilize problem-solving skills to help clients who may experience issues

Store Liaison Efforts

• Communicate to retailer’s vendor initiatives and ensure in-store presence and business objectives are delivered
• Recommend and provide information on new products to retailers to support EPIC sales productivity/goals in the division
• Utilize attention to detail to ensure clients receive the correct advice and support

Other Administrative Duties

• Support KAM in managing vendor/account trade systems
• Coordinate reports and other data for manufacturers
• Support KAM in trade/selling show coordination and execution
• Attend and participate in all scheduled company meetings

Education and Experience:

• Associate degree in business, or marketing, or equivalent experience
• Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
• Experience working in multiple categories/departments preferred
• Current Driver’s License and clean Motor Vehicle Report
• Previous experience working with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to operate a motor vehicle and travel regularly between work sites.
• Regular lifting and moving up to 40-50 pounds from one location to another, sometimes several feet away from each other.
• Regular use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to stand, crouch, bend, climb, kneel, and perform repetitive motions.
• Ability to stand and walk throughout the retail space for prolonged periods of time.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to see objects, information on computer screens, and/or view written information, from distances of 20-40 feet.
