KENNEL ATTENDANT
Salary Range: $17.1625 - $21.9042 Hourly, Plus Benefits

Kennel Attendant- Police Department
This position reports to the Animal Control Supervisor. Successful candidate will be responsible for the care, maintenance and security of the kennel area along with the cat/kitten room of the Animal Shelter.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
- Washes kennels out daily; on designated days with disinfectant for disease control.
- Be present in the kennel area to answer questions and to provide information
- Maintain clean runs and cages daily for odor control.
- Clean cages in cat/kitten room daily.
- Check self-feeders and food/water dishes daily; fill as needed.
- Check health status of animals on a daily basis.
- Move stray animals daily from stray section to adoption section.
- Euthanize animals when needed and properly care for remains.
- Maintain food and cleaning supplies.
- Maintain outside grounds when needed.
- Perform minor repair when needed.
- Assist in adoption of animals.
- Assist citizens with animals brought to the shelter
- Obtain impounded animals for owners.
- Conduct tours of kennel area for groups and parties
- Assist counter when needed
- Lift up to 100 lbs.
Minimum Requirements
Any combination of education and/or experience that has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for acceptable job performance. Example combinations include graduation from high school or equivalent, and one year of experience working with animals.
