Junior System Administrator

deciBel Research has an immediate opening for a Junior-level System Administrator in Dayton, OH.

Position Description: deciBel Research is looking for a Junior System Administrator to support operations at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) at Wright Patterson AFB (WPAB). The successful candidate will be responsible for information technology (IT) systems design, performance, and reliability.

Responsibilities Include:

• Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems.
• Installation, configuration, tuning and troubleshooting of commercial off the shelf (COTS) and Government off the shelf software (GOTS).
• Install and maintain organization's computer systems, including operating systems, applications, security software and other IT hardware.
• Provide installation, configuration, tuning and troubleshooting of commercial and custom software.
• Support the development, testing, installation, integration, and sustainment of new and existing systems.
• Install and configure networking equipment.
• Manage user accounts, credentials, permissions, and access rights.
• Assist users in access and use of IT systems.
• Support IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution.
• Develop and execute backup and recovery plan.
• Some shiftwork to include nights and/or weekends.

Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in technical discipline from an accredited college or university desired.

Experience Requirements:

• 2 years' experience as a System Administrator.
• Demonstrated experience and/or familiarity with RedHat, Linux, CentOS and/or UNIX desired.
• Familiarity with Docker, DC/OS, AWS and/or Kubernetes desired.
• Security+ certification is required.

Special Skills Desired:

• System administration experience with USAF or DoD systems a plus.
• Experience with database administration a plus.
